On May 22, 2017, Department of Homeland Security Secretary John F. Kelly announced the decision to extend the Temporary Protected Status designation for Haitians for only an additional six months.

HDI was able to use its connections on the ground to reach key community organizations and provide much-needed assistance in areas that would otherwise be left out.

We were honored that many key partners joined us for this occasion, which marked the culmination of a long effort to transform the Haiti Fund’s foundational work into a permanent Haitian institution devoted to supporting long term development efforts.

We guided a group of 21 guarantors from MCE Social Capital on a visit to Haiti to learn about the state of economic development and about investment opportunities in the country.
